In the qualifying event for the 2018 Women’s World Cup , the Indian hockey women team is going to fight against FIH Ranking No. 20 Chile at Johannesburg ,South Africa on 12th July from 12:00 onward . The FIH Ranking no. 12 India is put in pool B with host South Africa along with the U.S, Chile and Argentina.

In pool B , India lies on second position below USA after playing a draw with South African Hockey team on 8th July . In this match ,India shows a very effective defending performance against South Africa , Indian Goalkeeper Savita Rani play brilliantly and the match came out with a draw by 0-0. By this India made a slow but effective start in the Women’s Hockey World League Semi Final and with their powerful structured game they show a strong spot in the race to secure World Cup Qualification .
